RFP Experiments

Research activities:
Reversed field pinch STE-2. Minor radius 0.1m, major radius 0.4m; material of first wall: SS; no bellows, circular and non-circular cross section. Transformer: iron, 0.3Vs, plasma current 70kA, rise time 0.2ms, pulse length 1ms. Density 5x10¹⁹m^-3, electron temperature 50eV, beta 10%. The circular version is operational since 1990, the non-circular version with poloidal divertor since 1992. Boundary condition and/or modification studies for the development of advanced RFP concept.
