Research activities:
Hydro-Québec's research activities in fusion are presently limited to simulation and modelling. This includes zero-D and 1.5D modelling of bulk plasma parameters, as well as modelling of the edge of divertor tokamaks, with a view of applying the results to the ITER design. Another topic is numerical simulation using Eulerian Vlasov codes applied to problems of edge plasma physics (electric field, plasma detachment, edge turbulence, Fokker-Planck, ...), and to inertial confinement and to industrial plasmas.
