Research activities:
Edge plasma diagnostics involving fast atom beams:

• Evaluation of Li-beam diagnostic data using neural networks
• Modelling of He-atom beams and test measurements with a view to application to edge plasma diagnostics
• Collection and evaluation of atomic collision data for edge plasma modelling and diagnostics

Studies of atomic collision processes with relevance for fusion edge plasmas:

• Inelastic collisions of singly and doubly charged ions with molecules
• MCI-induced electron- and secondary particle emission from solid surfaces

Collaborations with ASDEX Upgrade and EFDA Close Support Unit Culham/JET. All activities since 15 Nov. 1996 have been performed within the Association EURATOM-OEAW.

Contributing to the EFDA Technology Work Programme 1999/2000, mass-spectrometric outgassing measurements have been performed on sintered and plasma-sprayed beryllium in a specially adapted gas analysis apparatus. All activities since 15 Nov. 1996 have been performed within the Association EURATOM-OEAW.
