Research activities:
The group has participated in the EFDA Technology Work Programme since 1999 and builds on long-standing experience in the field of superconducting fusion magnet materials. Newly defined tasks focus on the optimization of superconducting strands for the ITER TF coil system. The programme comprises heat treatment of internal tin strands, critical current measurements and examinations of the residual resistance ratio. All activities since 15 Nov. 1996 have been performed within the Association EURATOM-OEAW.
