Research activities:
Theoretical and experimental research on the CASTOR tokamak: plasma fluctuations, general theory of wave propagation and absorption in plasmas, new antenna systems for wave-plasma coupling, low-z impurities study, edge plasma studies, modelling of turbulence.

Studies of pulsed systems: high current capillary discharge for coherent x-ray emission, pulsed discharges in liquids and in gases at atmospheric pressure.

Prague Asterix Laser System (PALS): Target experiments with a pulsed terawatt laser beam, investigation of laser-produced plasmas as a source of x-ray radiation and of highly-stripped ions.

Development of plasma diagnostics: optical, microwave, corpuscular, X-ray spectrometry, mapping of the edge plasma by multiple tip Langmuir probes, computer codes for data processing.
