International Symposium on Standards, Applications and Quality Assurance in Medical Radiation Dosimetry

9-12 November 2010
Vienna, Austria

Organized by the
International Atomic Energy Agency

Preliminary information:

The symposium will provide a forum where advances in medical radiation dosimetry and application in medicine during the last decade can be disseminated and scientific knowledge exchanged. It will include external beam radiotherapy, brachytherapy, diagnostic radiology and nuclear medicine.

The symposium is addressed to a broad spectrum of experts in medical radiation dosimetry, such as medical physicists working in hospitals and/or teaching in universities, radiation physicists working in calibration and dosimetry laboratories and scientists working in research and development in this area.

The preliminary list of topics is given below:

• Radiation measurement standards for imaging and therapy
• Reference dosimetry and comparisons in external beam radiotherapy
• Reference dosimetry and comparisons in brachytherapy
• Clinical dosimetry in x-ray imaging
• Clinical dosimetry in radiotherapy
• Internal dosimetry for diagnostic and therapeutic nuclear medicine
• External quality audits
• Radiation protection dosimetry
• Dosimetry for proton and heavier charged particle beams in radiotherapy
