Instrument initial verification and troubleshooting
The instrument under calibration shall be tested to verify whether it complies with the specified characteristics (visual inspection), and if its functioning is stable and comply with the technical specifications (performance test).

- Inspection for external damages.
- Labelling and identification of the instrument.
- Availability of technical information.

- Perfect operation of actuators.
- Setting elements in defined position, zero point adjustable.
- Faultless sequence of self-checking and/or self adjusting functions. In the case that discrepancies are noticed, the calibration service must be halted. The organization must promptly inform the customer about the observed discrepancies and to reach an agreement on how to proceed further.
