Assessment of calibration capability

Before the calibration request can be accepted, it is necessary to strike the right balance between the customer’s requirements and the laboratory technical capabilities. Agreements shall be made on the following issues:

• administrative data for commission processing, dates, costs, packing, transportation, insurance.
  
  
• key terms of the measuring instrument, clear identification. Connections, functions, signal shapes, ranges of calibration, load impedances, safety instructions, limitations.
  
  
• calibration in which the measuring instrument will be calibrated only for selected functions or in selected ranges of measurements/scales.
  
  
• Statement of tolerances as maximum permissible errors, possibly necessary for the decision on adjusting or marking out of a conformity certificate.
