Research activities:
Analytical and computational studies on:

  1. Edge plasma properties. Influence of boundaries on the electromagnetic properties of bounded plasmas. Wave mixing in semi-bounded plasmas, kinetic equations and equilibrium plasma distribution near the wall (Yakimenko, Usenko, Zagorodny, Zasenko).
  2. Instabilities, turbulence. Renormalized electrodynamics of turbulent plasmas. Cascade processes in magnetized turbulent plasmas. Strongly nonlinear excitations in inhomogeneous plasma, drift modes, convective cells. Non-Markovian effects in plasma turbulence (Sitenko, Sosenko, Zagorodny).
  3. Plasma-wave interaction. Electromagnetic wave scattering in turbulent plasma. Influence of fluid-like motions on fluctuations and wave scattering spectra. Applications of the theory to fusion plasma diagnostics (Sitenko, Sosenko, Zagorodny, Zasenko, Khryapa).
  4. Transport processes, impurities, fuelling. Description of the anomalous transport processes within the framework of renormalized plasma electrodynamics. Studies of anomalous diffusion coefficients and dissipative structures in turbulent plasmas (Sitenko, Sosenko, Zagorodny). Influence of charging processes on the electromagnetic and relaxation processes in dusty plasmas (Sitenko, Zagorodny, Bystrenko, Kubaichuk, Strechyn).
