Research activities:
Our fusion research is concentrated in three areas:

1. Thermalhydraulic aspects of inertial fusion reactor design, including safety and economic aspects.
2. Spheromak research, combining experimental work with up to 20 MW of pulsed lower hybrid heating and theoretical studies of heat confinement.
3. Computer simulation and RF heating.

The group consists of six professors, three professors-in-residence, and 10 graduate students.
