Research activities:
The activity of the department covers general plasma physics, magnetic fusion and laser fusion research.

Activities in magnetic confinement fusion:

• Neutral beam diagnostic development and application: blow-off and accelerated beams
• Pellet ablation measurement and simulation
• Plasma turbulence measurements

The experimental work is done at various European fusion devices (TEXTOR, Wendelstein 7-AS, TCV) in the framework of the EURATOM collaboration.

Activities in laser fusion research:

• Harmonic generation in laser-plasma interaction
• Electron acceleration processes in laser plasmas
