Research activities:
Ontario Power Generation owns and operates the world's largest tritium removal facility at its Darlington nuclear station. A few kilograms of tritium have been safely removed and stored at this facility. The technologies of interest include tritium handling, water detritiation, cryogenic distillation, tritium storage on metal getters, tritium isotope separation, atmosphere detritiation and tritium dosimetry.
