Research activities:
Canatom's past involvement in fusion has been in the provision of engineering services to the Centre canadien de fusion magnétique (CCFM), most particularly in the areas of tokamak component design, RF heating, antenna design, power supply engineering and electrical grid simulations.

Canatom's current involvement is as a major supporter to Iter Canada and the effort to build the ITER fusion machine in Canada. Canatom has provided staff on secondment to the ITER Project office, and is supporting the development of the ITER site and buildings to house the fusion facilities, as well as the development of the planning for the assembly of the ITER tokamak and components.
