Description

Member States of the IAEA have pursued activities focusing on developing high–temperature gas-cooled reactors with an aim to build futuristic nuclear fuel cycles in the context of the Generation IV International Forum (GIF). This CD-ROM is the proceedings of two meetings discussing recent progress in gas-cooled reactor fuels technology. It includes detailed review papers on conventional and advanced fuel designs, fabrication technology, quality assurance and quality control, fuel irradiation qualification, fuel performance, fuel modelling and overall fuel cycle issues. The value of preserving the large technology base developed in several countries, was an important issue, and discussions were also focussed on potential future developments
