This report presents the findings of a study of the current radiological conditions at the former nuclear test site at Semipalatinsk, Kazakhstan, conducted by a team of international experts under the auspices of the IAEA at the request of the Government of Kazakhstan. The objectives of the study were to assess the current and potential future radiation doses to the residents of the Semipalatinsk nuclear test site area and adjacent settlements, to advise on remedial action, where appropriate, and to recommend whether further radiological evaluation of the area is warranted.
