Installation of Acrobat Reader

The papers are held as Adobe Acrobat PDF documents. The CD-ROM comes complete with Adobe Acrobat Reader 5 for Windows, Mac-OS and Unix/Linux for you to install on your computer, if you do not already have a copy of the Acrobat Reader software.

Click on the subfolder for your computer operating system (MAC, WIN, Unix/Linux), then click on the installer icon and follow the instructions online.

On a Unix system you may need to un-"tar" the appropriate archive for your operating system into a temporary directory and start the INSTALL script as root; you may first want to read the file INSTGUID.TXT and any "readme" file.

For many Linux distributions packages exist which allow easy software installation and upgrade. You will usually find a package with Acrobat Reader 5 on the installation CD-ROMs of your Linux distribution, or you may search for "acroread" on RPM search engines such as http://www.rpmfind.net/ or http://www.rpmseek.com/.
