Abstract. The heating and current drive systems of the Korea Superconducting Tokamak Advanced Research (KSTAR) tokamak consist of neutral beam, ion cyclotron, lower hybrid and electron cyclotron system and are being developed to provide heating as well as current drive capability for long pulse length up to 300 sec. The systems also provide flexibility in the control of current density abd pressure profiles for the study of advanced tokamak plasmas. The design has been completed and the long pulse relevant heating and current drive technologies are being developed.
