F. Shen Abstract China Institute of Atomic Energy (CIAE), as the comprehensive nuclear research basis of China, was founded in 1950 as the birthplace of Chinese nuclear science and technology. CIAE made great contributions for the establishment and development of nuclear science the technology in China. CIAE is situated southwest of Beijing and 40 km away from the center of Beijing City. Currently, it has 3200 staff members, including 700 senior scientists.
