Kawamura Abstract Corresponding to four fields of research reactor utilization, Japan Atomic Energy Research Agency has developed for different types of research reactors, JRR-3, JRR-4, NSRR and JMTR. Especially for JMTR, refurbishment works are now proceeding aiming at the reoperation from 2011 F.Y. after check and review discussion within JAEA and also government. The reoperation was determined by strong JMTR utilization requests from users. Therefore, many kinds of user oriented measures were discussed and carried out to satisfy the user’s requests. As a result, expected utilization after reoperation will increase greatly compared with before reoperation. As a good experience to enhance commercial applications, successful examples of JMTR are introduced.
