Hazard Assessment

As the first responder who arrives from the emergency services to the incident scene, assume the role of Incident Commander until relieved, and:

  1. Determine if an event may be a potential radiological emergency using the indications below.
  2. In case there are indications of a potential radiological emergency, as soon as possible confer with the radiological assessor through the national EOC and assess information such as the amount of a specific radioactive material or unusual readings.
  3. Follow Incident Commander's action guides as appropriate.
