A number of waste processing and storage facilities have been, or are being, established in many developing Member States. The objective of this publication is to provide advice to the operators of radioactive waste processing and storage facilities for preparing an application for authorization/licensing of the operation of such facilities. It will provide useful guidance in the preparation of detailed documentation to corroborate the licensing application to be submitted to the regulatory authority. Furthermore, it explains the methods and techniques used to obtain information from available sources and the system to be used to introduce this information into the support documentation.
