This report summarizes the findings of an appraisal carried out by 14 independent experts from 9 to 21 June 2002 of all transport activities of radioactive material in the United Kingdom, both domestic and international, for all modes of transport, with special emphasis on maritime transport. This appraisal was made against the requirements of international transport safety regulatory documents including the Regulations for the Safe Transport of Nuclear Material, Safety Standards Series No. TS-R-1 (ST-1, Revised) (2001).
