This publication presents results of an IAEA coordinated research project and demonstrates that there are ample opportunities to learn from comparisons between the geological disposal of carbon dioxide and radioactive waste, and to derive insights that will assist scientists and experts involved in research and development as well as policymakers responsible for national energy strategies and international climate policies.
