Abstract

Es Salam is a multipurpose heavy water research reactor, cooled and moderated by heavy water and using graphite as the reflector. It is a tank type with a nominal power of 15 MW. The design of the reactor has been optimised to satisfy radioisotope production requirement, to supply high flux neutron beams for researchers and future expansion for development and application in vital areas.
