Research activities:

1. Swarthmore Spheromak Experiment: The goal of this project has been to generate force-free magnetofluid rings called spheromaks and investigate their merging by magnetic reconnection. The idea is to use techniques from magnetic confinement fusion to study the fundamental physics of solar and astrophysically relevant magnetofluids.
2. Liquid Metal Dynamos: The goal of this project is to study low Reynold's number magnetohydrodynamics in a few liters of liquid sodium.
