Research activities:
The group performs researches in the domain of plasma confinement and stability with main application to the tokamak physics. Our work is both analytical and numerical and employs the large experimental data base of the tokamak community. Important international collaborations (with CEA-Cadarache and ULB Bruxelles) are active.

Research activities:
The research in the fusion field is focused on the project ''Non-destructive analysis of fusion materials samples by microtomography''. Our proposal aims at the improvement of the development and testing of the fusion materials by employing state of the art non-destructive techniques (NDT) such as X ray microradio/tomography.

Research activities:
The research uses different arrangements with basically the following elements: initial energy supply (high-energy capacitor discharges or explosive-driven flux-compression generators) discharged into conditioning circuits (opening & closing switches, high voltage transformers, etc) coupled to various loads for applications (different magnetic coil geometry, electron and ion beam generators, microwave and x-ray sources, electromagnetic launchers, etc). Applications are in: medicine, aviation, nuclear energy, etc.

Research activities:
Gamma (Co-60 irradiator) and 15 MeV proton (8 MV HV TANDEM accelerator) irradiations on ceramics, optical fibres and laser components. The research focuses on comparison of the ionization and displacement induced damage (influence on the UV and visible optical transmission properties) and on radiation enhanced hydrogen isotope diffusion in these materials.

  1. The evaluation of the anomalous transport fluxes and entropy production in regions with strong neoclassical effects
  2. The diffusion of the magnetic field lines in the presence of a shear and the effect on the particle diffusion
  3. The description of dissipative phenomena using fractal geometry and new aspects in iterative Hamiltonian applications modeling diffusion in Tokamak.

Hydrogen Isotopes Separation Technologies; System for Tritium Removal from Water in nuclear fusion facilities. Investigations on tritiated waste treatment by catalytic isotope exchange between tritiated water and a current of hydrogen and/or deuterium and cryogenic distillation of hydrogen and its isotopes are carried on.
