Research activities:
Energy Engineering Division
Development of new methods to control nuclear reactions and new principles and technology of generation, transport, conversion and utilization of nuclear energy.

Mass Transmutation Engineering Division
Research on beam-material interaction, fuel breeding and recycling, transmutation by nuclear reactions and quantum engineering separation processes to ensure high efficiency and safety of nuclear energy systems.

System and Safety Engineering Division
To establish social consent for nuclear energy systems, research is conducted on: understanding and control of ultra-rapid transient and complicated phenomena occurring during energy release processes; design and production of materials suited to the demanding environment of advanced energy and space systems; safety logic of energy systems and evaluation of accidents; design of new concepts of nuclear power systems.
