Research activities:
Research activities presently aim at the characterization of chromium alloys and the study of their performance in fusion devices and are based on a cooperation between Metallwerke Plansee (Austria), Austrian Academy of Sciences (OEAW/ESI Leoben) and the Nuclear Research Centres SCK/CEN Mol (Belgium) and NRG Petten (Netherlands). Neutron-scattering investigations focus on the characterization of microstructural changes due to irradiation effects which correspond to changes in macroscopic quantities as observed, e.g., in mechanical testing. All activities since 15 Nov. 1996 have been performed within the Association EURATOM-OEAW.
